If you are doing a remodel on your home and considering changing water heaters then the choices are endless for you. The new advancements in water heaters has led many people to believe that there is nothing that they can not do anymore when it comes to heating the water they need in the home. Of course with the new advancements comes tribulations that you may not wish to encounter and also there is some significant cost involved in such deals.
One of the most popular of all the new types of hot water heaters is the tankless water heater. The main reason for it's popularity is the fact that there is a lot less space needed for the water heater itself. There is limitless possibilities when it comes to the amount of room that you can save when you go with the tankless water heaters that are currently on the market. This is coupled with the fact that the lack of a tank ends a lot of the problems that people were currently having when it came to water heaters in the first place. Overall the less there is to go wrong the less will go wrong, or at least that is the current thought process.
Tankless water heaters use an in line or in pipe heating system. This is the method that has been used for years at large hotels where the hot water can be used very quickly. Rather then having to wait for the tank to refill and the water to heat up the tankless water heaters heat the water as it is going through the lines. So in effect you are getting on demand hot water without all the hassles that come with the traditional water heaters.
The downfall of these systems is the price. First off they are fairly new to the market for consumers, as they were once sold only to commercial properties. With that in mind we see that the price is still rather elevated considering the fact that a traditional water heater is about one tenth the price. So the price is certainly enough to make one sit back and take notice.
The other major issue with the tankless water heaters is the fact that they can sometimes be a bit lacking in the heat area. Because the water is flowing through the heating department, it is not stopping to be heated to a certain temperature. With this process the water may be a bit cooler then some people like to see.
The energy that is expended on heating the water with a tankless water heater is well below the traditional. This is a major selling point as traditional water heaters are notorious for being high in energy draw and thus costing more in the long run.
